Summary of Job:
This is a contract position with flexible hours, ranging from part-time to full-time depending on project needs. The position is remote but we will be giving preference to candidates in the Jacksonville area due to proximity for any in-person client or team meetings. Only US-based candidates will be considered. Previous UX Design experience working in a digital marketing agency is required.
We are seeking a creative and user-centered UX Designer to join our team and help shape exceptional digital experiences. In this role, you will be responsible for understanding user needs, translating them into intuitive design solutions, and collaborating closely with project managers, developers, and other designers. The ideal candidate is passionate about strategic thinking and concept development grounded in competitive research. They excel at solving complex problems through design, backed by strong research and prototyping skills, and have a sharp eye for detail. You’ll collaborate closely with another designer to enhance the usability, accessibility, and overall user experience of our web and mobile projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct user research through usability testing, and a good understanding of user behaviors, needs, and motivations.
- Create user personas and journey maps, to guide design decisions based on research insights.
- Design wireframes, prototypes, and UI mockups that effectively communicate interaction and design principles.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, developers, and other designers, to deliver intuitive and user-centered solutions.
- Be able to QA your own work and help QA the work of other designers also.
- Translate a document of requirements into easy-to-use, accessible, and engaging user interfaces.
- Iterate designs based on user feedback, usability testing, and business needs.
- Maintain consistency in visual and interaction design by adhering to and contributing to project style guides, design systems and brand guidelines.
- Advocate for the user at every stage of the product development process, ensuring that user experience is prioritized.
- Stay updated on UX trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve design quality.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in UX design, interaction design, or a related field
- Proven experience with user research, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing.
- Portfolio or examples of work showcasing UX process and design outcomes across web and/or mobile platforms.
- Strong proficiency in Figma for prototyping, along with Adobe Creative Suite tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Experience with other design applications like Premiere Pro, Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision, or similar is a plus.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and responsive design principles.
- Understanding of HTML, CSS, and basic knowledge of front-end development is a plus, not mandatory.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities, especially when working with other team members.
- Comfortable presenting ideas and design rationale internally and to clients if needed.
- A user-first mindset with a strong attention to detail.
